She had a few free passes to the Love Vintage Fair on this weekend and being the generous lovely lady she is, she invited me to go with her! It was absolutely incredible. Everything was beautiful. A little bit out of my price range though, so I nearly left empty-handed! I’m a pretty impulsive person, but anything over $60 is a definite no for me. But when I stumbled upon this gorgeous 1970’s genuine Italian leather jacket at Bowerbird Vintage’s stall, it was love at first sight. It was $90!!! But for real leather, that’s a damn good deal. After consulting a few lovelies online, I decided to go for it. ~yolo~

Also, all the buttons do up. And stay up. THAT IS A REALLY BIG DEAL FOR ME GUYS, YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW.

FEB11 2012 : MISS SAILOR

Wow, the first post of 2012? In the middle of February? FOR SHAME. Just a simple outfit, but one I really liked! I think it’s these lush cat eye sunglasses that really bring the outfit together! They were a gift from my lovely friend Tamsin! They are so beautiful and I am going to wear them every day.

I couldn’t find my other black sock so I thought it would be a good idea to mismatch it with a white one… in hindsight this was a dumb idea b/c I got stares all day AND I actually have two of the white ones…
And I “made” this collar! I got a cheap button down shirt from a thrift store, cut the collar off, sewed some lace on it, and voila! I might add more embellishments to it later…

Hello everyone! Gosh, it’s getting quite warm these days! Perfect vest weather! Can you believe I got this vest from my MOTHER of all people?! I can’t ever imagine her wearing this! I have big plans to iron on a bunch of transfers on the back! In the meantime, I’ve adorned the front with some spectacular trinkets and badges! My birthday was on Monday! I spent it with my bestest best friends. We wandered around Newtown (and I bought myself many many presents), had lunch at my favourite Malaysian restaurant and then spent the rest of the day running around the city looking for My Little Ponies.

(Apologies for the face, the only decent photo out of the bunch was the one where my eyes were closed. :P) I think it’s definitely accessories that make an outfit. And I get all of mine from all over! I love buying handmade things, because a lot of love goes into creating them, and as a result, outfits are just that little bit specialler! Wow, “specialler” is a real word?!

My friend Tamsin was the one who encouraged me to buy this dress! We were both enticed by the $20 sale at Landspeed Records. I also encouraged her to buy a dress, she looked adorable in it. In fact, she’s a much better dresser than I am, I should force her to make her own dressup blog!
